ABOUT SCOTT...
Scott's life of music began with drums in the school orchestra in the 5th grade. He later switched to private guitar lessons at the age of ten, continuing thru high school in Fairfax, VA with well know teacher, Jeff Ponder. Forming a band called Equinox, he played for various school functions, competitions and private parties. While attending Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), he played acoustic guitar at nightclubs in and around Richmond, VA.
His classical guitar education began upon entering the Classical Guitar Department at VCU, studying under John Patakula. John is the head of the VCU guitar program and is a former student of the world renowned classical guitarist Jesus Silva. Scott’s appreciation and love of classical guitar flourished under John's tutelage.

Scott earned a B.A. degree in Performance of Classical Guitar with a minor in Piano, and his honors include Playing the solo in Vivaldi’s Concerto in D with the Guitar Orchestra and winning 1st place in the American String Teacher's Association Competition. While a student at VCU, Scott also taught guitar for the Community School for Performing Arts.
For six years, as lead guitarist and songwriter, he performed Rock & Roll and traveled the Eastern Seaboard with "The Headstone Circus".
Since settling in Kill Devil Hills, NC in 1993, Scott has become known for his ease and talent performing the total range of music from pop, folk rock to beautifully executed classical works. He can currently be seen performing at local Outer Banks restaurants such as The Outer Banks Brewing Station, Chilli Peppers, and
Quagmires. He can also be seen at various Tidewater, VA venues. Scott is available to perform either classical or acoustic guitar for both private parties and, with
the Outer Banks becoming a premier wedding destination, for wedding ceremonies and receptions.
During a six week visit to Key West, FL in 1997, Scott appeared at several well known "hangout's" such as Schooner Wharf, Blue Heaven, and Turtle Krall's.
Anyone who has seen Scott play is familiar with the variety of original music he has written and composed. In the Spring of 2000, Scott took the next step in his career and ventured into the world of
32 track digital recording by setting up his own studio with a custom built PC, Pro Tools LE software with digi001
interface, Sony's Acid Pro, and Propellerhead's Reason. He has
produced cd's for other musicians such as Carson Huggins, Leslie Buck, Neevis,
and “One Truth Freedom Band”, an eight piece Christian Ska group with a 3
part horn section. Current Projects at "The Ranch" include a Bent
Grass
